Wedding Shoes - um, not mine!

Since I am King Furniture 'Delta turned into a double bed' lounge bound due to an eeville migraine that had me reaching for the eletriptan's in the early hours of this morning ( why it doesn't occur to me earlier I just do not comprehend ! ) there will be no cute shoe stories to tell you, no trip trap trapping to exotic ordinary yet fun places or events.

I had planned to wear my Sogni di Giorgia navy lace up booties ( pics when I actually wear them ) to Church this morning but alas here I am still blobbing and blogging on my ridiculously comfy lounge.

So instead I'll let my favourite pair of red peep toe heels tell you a story....

I chose Vikki when she was searching on Ebay. I was a little confused at first because she was going under some slightly ridiculous alias, something about Twisties that were curry flavoured or something, anyway...I knew she and I were destined to meet because as soon as she saw me she heard me whisper her real name and placed a bid on me. Truth be told I was slightly put out by her maximum bid, I mean, who can put a price on such perfection ? But I liked her decisiveness and I decided then and there that she could purchase me for only.... ( actually a lady never reveals her worth..so we'll just leave it at that ) ;)

I had heard along the grapevine that she was intending for me to accompany her to a wedding in NEW YORK CITY! My spiritual home ! The land of Manolo and Louboutin. *sigh* What harm would it do if I just happened to accidentally slip out of her luggage and get lost somewhere along 5th Avenue or even Fashion Avenue ? Hmm?

After much waiting inside her luggage and some roughhousing by some new competition that she picked up along the way during her trip the big day finally arrived. But it was cold! At least it was warm inside - love those Americans with their central heating - but she was going to take me outside which I was not looking forward to.

She paired me with a very cute retro Black and White polka dot dress, a black knitted shrug and she wore a pretty little flowered headband on her head. Cute, retro. But I would be the talking point. That was obvious. I did hope I didn't overshadow the Bride in all my striking glory though. That would be quite rude. I am bold and forward perhaps. But never rude.

I did have a moment of shock when I realised that we were no longer in New York but now in Pittsburgh ! I was promised a wedding in New York ! Note to self - next time check the fine print. Read first, whisper later... But I digress.....

Thankfully the Bride looked radiant in her two piece handmade dress with purple lacing,  purple shoes ( yes I did like those very much ! ) and a purple velvet shrug later on that night. And I was radiant that night with all the complaints I was getting on my 12cm height and obvious glowing complexion. I had no idea why Vikki was trembling so as she stood up to MC with that Crazy ( in a good way ) friend of hers or sing the first dance song with the Groom's* sister. She had me. I was there for her all night. I was there to give her confidence and some much needed height. And she rewarded me by keeping me on her feet until it was time to say goodbye and thankfully left me behind when it was time to help pack up the reception!

Truthfully I did consider making a run for it when she stopped off for an extra night in New York before heading home but by then I was so weary that I just couldn't bear the thought of it and decided to stick around. I knew she wouldn't get to wear me again and perhaps now it's time to encourage her to let me go and work my charm on some other deserving damsel but at least we will have the photos of us in New York Pittsburgh, PA to remember each other by.

* Yes, the Groom looked handsome too.

xxx 12cm Peep toe Tony Bianco's

So that's the story of us. Me and my 12cm Peep toe Tony Bianco's. Soon to be placed on Ebay so that I have a good reason justification excuse to buy another red peep toe pair with a more wearable heel height. I hope my Red has a little cousin. ;)
